IN RE BOARD OF CERTIFIED COURT REPORTER EXAMINERS

Opinion Delivered: April 5, 2018

PER CURIAM

The Board of Certified Court Reporter Examiners [the Board] has submitted a proposed change to The Regulations of the Board of Certified Court Reporter Examiners.  Specifically, the Board requests that we revise Section 14(a) by adjusting the percentage of accuracy required for passage of the written knowledge portion of the certification exam.  The requested adjustment would cause our certification exam to be in line with the national certification exams. We have reviewed the Board’s proposal, and we adopt the revised Regulation.  The revision to the Regulation, which is set out in “line-in, line-out” fashion below (new material is underlined; deleted material is lined through), is effective immediately.

Section 14 of the Regulations of the Board of Certified Court Reporter Examiners

The tests shall be as follows:

(a) A written knowledge test consisting of spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, general knowledge, rules governing preparation of transcripts (Rules of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals 3-1, 3-2, 3-3 and 3-4), and rules governing the regulation of the court reporting profession (Sections 19 and 22 of the Regulations of the Board of Certified Court Reporter Examiners) with a minimum of 75% 70% accuracy.

You are being directed to the most recent version of the statute which may not be the version considered at the time of the judgment.
